The Bob Marley Foundation, founded in 1986, has contributed financial, cultural and other resources to various communities and organizations in Jamaica.

In Arts and Culture, the Foundation has been involved with Art Exhibitions, Film Festivals, Workshops for Cultural Development and Talent shows. The major highlight on our calendar of events is the Bob Marley’s birthday celebrations. This major event is a celebration of Bob’s life.


The Foundation is proud to facilitate much of its work through implementation of several social interventions such as: The Marley for Education, School Support, and Marley for Health and Marley Social Welfare projects among others.

To date the Marley for Education project has provided scholarships for approximately 780 students (ages 3 -17 years old) by assisting them with support for school expenses such as: uniform, school fees and books. The aim of this project is to provide economic assistance for parents who are experiencing financial difficulty.

While, The Students Support project provides financial assistance for approximately eight Basic and Primary Schools. The current benefitting schools are: Bob Marley Primary and Junior High, Chepstowe Basic School, Cedella Booker Basic School, Victory Basic School, Holy Trinity Basic School, Boys Town Basic School, Rhoden Basic School, St. Isaacs Basic School.

Also the Foundation has provided funds for rehabilitation of sponsoring schools namely: St. Teckkle Basic School, Cedella Booker Basic School, Rhoden Hall Basic School, Eight Miles School and Chepstowe Basic School.

In the area of health the Foundation made significant impact through donation of equipment presented to: St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, Victoria Jubilee Maternity Hospital, Bustamante Hospital for Children and Women’s Health Network – Jamaica under the Marley For Health Project. Equipment presented includes but not limited to: Oximeters, Fetal and Maternal Monitors, Portable Ultra Sound Systems, Blood Pressure Machines, Chairs among other.

Additionally, Marley Social Welfare projects involve provision of assistance to selected elderly beneficiaries with health related assistance.
