AFRICA UNITE - GHANA (2006)

Once more, the Bob Marley and the Rita Marley Foundations hosted a celebration of The Honour Rebel’s Birthday, AFRICA UNITE 2006. Last year it was Ethiopia, this year, the proceedings took place in Ghana West Africa, from February 1st through the 6th, 2006.

Events included a photo exhibition, a symposium and a monster concert featuring musicians from Africa and Jamaica. There were also visits to important historical sites in Ghana and cabaret shows with musicians.

will.i.am (from The Black Eyed Peas) remixes Bob Marley's "Africa Unite"
 
New York, NY– Bob Marley Music announces the remix and release of the seminal classic ‘Africa Unite’. The track, originally written by Bob Marley himself, was released on the 1979 album Survival and produced by The Wailers and Alex Sadkin.

The will.I.am remix will become available on March 31st, 2005 via Apple's iTunes and is a continuation of recent festivities marking Marley’s 60th birthday. All proceeds from the sales with be split between the Bob Marley Foundation, the Rita Marley Foundation and the will.i.am Foundation.

The city of Addis Ababa opened her arms and warmly welcomed everyone involved with Africa Unite 2005. The event was a tremendous success highlighted by a concert attented by 300,000 people.

EBAY.COM CHARITABLE AUCTION
The success of our previous auction has inspired us to continue to reward the altruistic and helping spirits of The Bob Marley Foundation supporters. From November 26th 2004 through December 3rd 2004, we had a charitable auction on ebay.com.

 
There was a strong list of truly great items that have been donated to the foundation to be offered to our supporters and all people who love and respect the spirit of Bob Marley and the progressive positivity that he represents. The auction inlcuded:
